Kevin Sakoda’s career in the music industry spans almost two decades across the creative and business spectrums. He fostered his early love of music as a DJ and producer, energized by the emerging Hip Hop scene in Southern California. His tastes were inspired by the groundbreaking sound of world famous radio station 1580-AM KDAY, leading him to become one of the longest running College DJs on KSPC-FM in Claremont, CA. Along with his work in the Marketing and A&R Departments of Warner Bros. Records, he began forging relationships which last to this day. He has held leadership posts with independent record labels Timeless Music and Legendary Music, and has grown his marketing expertise with creative branding agencies such as The Rebel Organization (founded by Urb Magazine’s Raymond Roker and Josh Levine) and The Run Group. After moving to New York, he also helped launch tech startups Music Nation (founded by DoubleClick’s Kevin Ryan) and Fileblaze. And most recently, he helped lead Scratch DJ Academy to its most profitable year in the company’s 10-year history. The common thread has always been his love of music and its unique ability to convey a genuinely impactful message to its audience. Kevin now oversees Business Operations for Rareform Sound.
